MATERIALS & HARDWARE

Built from the right stuff

We build every job from solid boards and hardware you can trust. Here's a rundown of what's in the box, from the carcass to the fingerpulls, so there's no guesswork before you order.

Board materials

All our cabinets are built from high-quality, locally sourced board materials. We only use products with ultra low emission ratings of E0 and E1.

HMR Particleboard

Our standard carcass material. HMR stands for High Moisture Resistant — it has a moisture-resistant resin in the core so it handles everyday kitchen and bathroom humidity without swelling or warping.

Covered in a hard-wearing white melamine surface. Solid, practical, and the most cost-effective option for cabinet internals.

Decorative Melamine

Polytec and Laminex decorative melamine surfaces. Australia’s leading brands for decorative board — available in a wide range of colours, textures, and timber looks.

MR MDF E0 (MR: moisture resistant, and E0 refers to the formaldehyde emissions rating — it meets the most stringent Australian indoor air quality standard.) Colour ranges: polytec.com.au/colours/  |  laminex.com.au/colour-collection

Drawer systems

We offer three drawer systems at different price points. All include soft-close and full open as standards — the drawer opens to reveal the total interior, then on closing slows itself and closes gently without slamming.

FGV Unilux

A practical, Italian-designed double-wall drawer system. Full extension so you can reach everything at the back. A popular all-rounder that punches above its weight in both looks and quality, with soft-close included.

Load rating: 35 kg. Available in 4 heights. A solid, reliable entry-level choice for kitchens, laundries, wardrobes, and secondary storage.

Grass Nova Pro

Austrian-engineered double-wall steel drawer with a notably smooth, synchronised action. Full extension, soft-close, and a very secure drawer front connection. A great drawer option for any project.

Load rating: 40 kg or 70 kg depending on specification. Available in multiple heights and finishes. A reliable step up in feel and performance.

Blum Legrabox

Blum’s flagship drawer system — the benchmark for premium cabinetry worldwide. Ultra-slim steel sides, feather-light opening, and BLUMOTION soft-close built in. Even fully loaded, it glides without effort or sag.

Load rating: 40 kg or 70 kg. Available in silk white as standard — alternate finishes available on request: Orion grey, carbon black, and anti-fingerprint stainless steel. Backed by a Blum lifetime guarantee. Our preferred recommendation for kitchens and anywhere the quality of your hardware matters.

Hinges

All our cabinets use Blum CLIP top INSERTA hinges with integrated soft-close (BLUMOTION).

Blum CLIP top INSERTA with BLUMOTION

Blum is the world’s most trusted cabinet hinge brand, and CLIP top is their flagship system. The INSERTA mechanism means the hinge boss presses into the door without tools — no screws in the cup, faster installation, cleaner result.

BLUMOTION soft-close is integrated directly into the hinge — doors close gently and quietly regardless of how hard you push them. Full 3-dimensional adjustment so doors can be fine-tuned after installation. Tested to 200,000 open/close cycles.

Door fronts

We offer three door front types, so you can choose the right balance of style and budget.

Melamine Flat Front

A flat door front finished in a durable decorative melamine surface. Clean, simple, and cost-effective — the most popular choice for a contemporary kitchen or wardrobe.

Available in solid colours and woodgrain finishes. Flat profile only — no routed detailing.

Vinyl Wrapped Door

An MDF door wrapped in a durable vinyl foil, heat- and vacuum-pressed for a seamless finish with no visible joins. Opens up profile and shaker-style options that flat melamine can’t offer.

Wide colour and texture range including woodgrains.

Painted (2-pack Polyurethane) Door

An MDF door sprayed with 2-pack polyurethane paint for a smooth, seamless, high-end finish. Includes flat profiles and Shaker-style doors in 6 different profiles.

Available in almost any colour, in gloss, satin, or matt.

Handleless doors: fingerpulls

If you’re looking for an uncluttered kitchen, doors and drawers can be opened using one of two integrated fingerpull styles, machined directly into the cabinetry for a clean, handle-free look.

INTEGRATED PULL

Sharknose Fingerpull

The top edge of the door or drawer front is cut at a 45° angle, creating a hidden grip you slide your fingers over to open. The angled edge gives the profile its ‘sharknose’ name.

Leaves the front face completely smooth and uninterrupted for a minimalist, streamlined look. Suits melamine and painted doors.

INTEGRATED PULL

L-shaped Shadow Gap Fingerpull

A recessed L-shaped section is built into the cabinet above the door or drawer front, creating a shadow gap that your fingers slide into to open it — with no cut into the door front itself.

Gives a similar clean, handleless look as the sharknose, with a deeper squared-off (rather than angled) shadow line.
